Manipur State Disaster Management Authority

The State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) is a statutory body constituted under the Disaster Management Act, 2005 vide order No. 12/2/99-RLF/II/I dated 31st December 2010 under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister and other member in order to respond effectively to various disasters/calamities namely earthquake, landslides, cyclone floods, forest fires, drought pest attack etc.

The MSDMA is vested with responsibilities of not only providing relief assistance to the victims of various natural calamities but also responsible for imparting awareness programmes to various stakeholders on pre and post disaster management comprising of disaster preventive preparedness, mitigation, search & rescue & relief and rehabilitation & recovery and reconstruction etc. The Authority has the responsibility of laying down policies and plans of DM in the State, recommend the provision of funds for mitigation and preparedness measures, review the development plans of different department of the state and ensure that prevention and mitigation measures are integrated therein and issue necessary guidelines or directions as may be necessary.

Under sub-section (1) and (2) of section 14 of Disaster Management Act, 2005 the state Government hereby reconstituted the Manipur State Disaster Management Authority vide order No. 12/2/99-RLF/III/I(Pt.) dated 3rd January, 2022 consisting of the following:
